[A man in a hat, sunglasses and a black and white shirt holding a flag steps up to the podium and looks to them, but he doesn't say anything. The crowd's cheers grow louder and the growling from the cages become more desperate, and Ryuji can already feel the nervous sweat soaking his forehead. Is it hot out here or is it just him...?]
I dunno what you're talkin' about but if you got any ideas, I'm open to 'em!
I'll help you run. [ SHE'S IN HEELS BUT SHE CAN DO THIS ] - Like a three legged race, but without us being tied together. It's better than leaving one of us behind, isn't it?
[He glances behind him again, and he tries to stifle the nervousness that cracks his voice with minimal success. The cheers of the crowds start to turn into chants and jeers and laughter as Ryuji tries to push himself to his feet.]
Better than nothin', I--
[He's interrupted by the sound of a gun going off, followed by the shouts again and the grinding of metal bars and Ryuji's stomach sinks with panic.]
[He throws an arm over her shoulder, careful not to toss all of his weight onto her as he starts to limp down the track with her. There are menacing barks from behind them as the dogs start their chase, and Ryuji tries to move a little faster, his breath quickening as the panic starts to rise.]
Not cool, not cool, not cool!
[He isn't sure what else he can do besides keep moving and dragging his feet along the dirt track, but Ryuji looks to Kyouko with concern.]
I will not be the sort of person who leaves someone behind to this sort of thing.
[ it's a declaration because she thinks maybe she could be that person, if circumstances aligned, and she thinks that maybe that would disappoint those she cares about in this lifetime.
SO STAGGER RUNNING ALONG IT IS, with what minute strength she has ]
[Ryuji has to repeat it beneath his groans of pain with every single step they make. The dogs are closing in on them now, their savage howls and growls becoming louder and louder. The odd thing is that no matter how fast the dogs seem to run, and no matter how slow he and Kyouko are, they never catch up, nor does the track ever seem to end. He can see the bend up ahead, but it just gets further and further away. Still doesn't make being chased by rabid dogs any less terrifying.]
One of the dogs manages to catch up and it snaps at his ankles, almost managing to snag onto the skin of his leg. Ryuji kicks at it and hits it hard enough to send it stumbling off the track, but that doesn't deter the rest of them from chasing, unfortunately for them.]

The power of thought is supposed to have a great deal of power in dreams. But - perhaps what can change this...is what is different.
[ she frowns, because that would be her. she does glance over her shoulder at the growling, and then around the stadium. ]
- Would you consent to my help?

[ AWAKE, SHE MEANS.
why is this even a plan. she's half-dragging him along but she's noticed they don't seem to be making progress...or falling behind. ]

[He has yet to catch on what that means.
