and she gave us this book that the retrospec people we were working with used to give us weapons to fight the monsters

she just told us it was supposed to help fight unreality and gave us the book, for all the good it's done us since

I do wonder how we can defeat this "unreality" permanently.

well if their weapons didn’t do it back then idk how they’ll help now
it’s like they just patched it up with duct tape instead of actually fixing the problem
and we’re not going to find the answer ourselves if we can’t get information from retrospec either

otherwise what's the point of "saving" us if unreality or whatever is just going to kill us anyway

The point is it spares us from a death until something is figured out, isn't it? There's little point to simply giving up and saying "well, it was a nice run, but we may as well not even try". It could be they know the answer, of course, but...I don't think there's no point to continuing to try.

i don't know
i'm not a huge fan of this remembering things in bits and pieces stuff
it probably would've been better if they'd just left us alone instead of trying to force us to be those people again

It's possible they don't control the rate of memories. If they do, I have similar complaints.

if that's true then they have way less control over everything than they want us to believe
and that doesn't make it better
